Alberta Percheron Club - Event Dates and Information

Many of our current Alberta Percheron Club Members have been with the Alberta Percheron Club for many years, we look forward to hearing new ideas from new members and seeing new people with an interest in the Percheron Horse. We hope to see you at some of the Alberta Percheron Club Events.

Below are some of the Events that the Alberta Percheron Club holds each year, listed are the dates of the event, information on the events and Entry/Application Forms for each event.

• Alberta Percheron Club General Annual Meeting
• Held every February (Date to be announced)
• Held at the Westerner, Red Deer, Alberta.
• Memberships for the Alberta Percheron Club may be purchased through out the year.
• Single Membership - $25.00 = Single Vote at Annual Meeting
• Family Membership - $35.00 = Two Votes at Annual Meeting and family participation.
• Youth Membership - $15.00 = Youth Eligable for Alberta Percheron Club Programs
• Association Membership - 15.00 = Includes you in our Mail outs.

• The Alberta Percheron Club's Annual Breed Directory
• Members of the Alberta Percheron Club are eligable to list their farms and horses in this book. Our directory has been delivered to all American and Canadian Percheron Members as well as to request from over seas.
• Farm/Breeder Entry $65.00 plus $3.00/horse entered.

• Youth Program/Clinic
• Watch for event dates!
• Held at the Alhambra Arena and Convention Centre, South of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta
• An Annual Driving Clinic for youth age 14-21and beginner adults. It is a 2 day event with clinicians Brian and Colleen Coleman and Gord Ruzicka. Youth will learn to handle the Draft Horse safley, decorate, harness, and hook (single and multiple hitches). View an On-Line Gallery of the Last Youth Clinic.

• Youth Scholarship
• Available to Alberta Percheron Club youth members.
• $500.00 Scholarship for ages 16-21
• May be used for education or horse related clinics.
• Requirement: Speech prepared and presented by applicant on the subject of Percheron Horses or how they have effected your life. Speech will be presented at the Percheron Annual General Meeting in front of the general membership.

• Alberta Percheron Club Field Day
• Held June 7, 2008
• Location: Double Tree Museum, West of Spruce View, Alberta.
• View and Experience Farm work as it was done 100's of years ago.
• Entertainment: Side Saddle and Pack Demonstrations, Museum Tours, Ice Cream Making, Jam Session, Bar-B-Q and lots more!

• Alberta Percheron Club Draft Horse Foal Show
• Held the last saturday in October in Conjunction with the WRDHA Futurity.
• Foal Entry $10.00 per class
• Stalling $20.00 per Box Stall, only 3 foals per stall
• Clean Out Fee $15.00 per Stall(refundable when stall has been cleaned out)
• 3 Classes Available - Stud Colt Class, Filly Foal Class, Get of Sire (2 foals - same sire)
